School Counseling Program Mission/Vision

Mission: The approach of Broaddus ISD counseling department is developmental approach. Students in the developmental method have potential to understand more about themselves an others before they face problems in their lives. The students learn intrapersonal skills so that when a situation arises the student can draw rom their skills to handle the problem. The developmental approach allows every student a foundation of emotional and social skills. Three areas that are addressed to maximize development are: academic, career and personal/social skills. The schools mission is to advocate for all students by establishing an inclusive and learning atmosphere by patterning with stakeholders to eliminate adversity. Using a data driven counseling program, all students will enhance practical and responsible decision-making strategies, develop behavioral patterns to improve goals and involvement. 

Vison: All students from Broaddus ISD have the skills and knowledge to be lifelong learners, social emotional skills to be leaders, and willing to peruse professions that support their families. They understand their own importance and respect, support diversity, are capable of making self-directed and rational decisions, show compassion, and are able to cope with long and short-term difficulties.
